The last chapel of the semester took place at Elon College.
Imagine a group of a hundred students, nineteen or twenty years old, orientals, latinos, blacks, whites listening to a man in his seventies teach for an hour on sex from a biblical point of view.
I was their preacher and that is the subject they asked of me.
We discussed why God made sex, the physical, mental and Spiritual aspects. And we looked at the boundaries placed around sexual expression—no lust, rape, fornication, divorce, incest, homosexuality and such.
We also studied forgiveness and healing from sexual regret. Then I took questions for almost two hours.
It was a special night for me because I began college ministry there in 1978.
Go figure: I’ve been involved in college ministry in seven decades now—working, preaching, debating, one-on-one, and mentoring.
Thanks to you I have the funds for gas, car, books, food to do it all.
And when I think of retiring, the Lord plainly says to me: I gave you a great treasure. Why should you close the lid to the chest and go home and sit on the lid?
So I go. And I plan to keep going.
Thanks, Partners,
